The Do’s

1. Worried about dust? If you aren’t a fan of brooms, you can make due with a vacuum’s soft brush attachment. Otherwise, a broom that has soft and fine bristles works best for attracting dust bunnies.
2. Just because we don’t want you to leave spills on your floors doesn’t mean you can’t get it wet at all! When cleaning make sure to squeeze all the water out to ensure a damp rag.
3. The best recipe for a floor cleaning solution is only two ingredients; about 1/2 cup distilled white vinegar and a gallon of water. Mop with this simple mix for dirt free floors. 
4. Interested in keeping things shiny? Try steeping two tea bags in bowling water for a few minutes for a quick solution. 

The Don’ts

1. Never let spilled water settle on your hardwood, it will creep it’s way through the top layer and begin to warp it.

The Musts

1. Attach some sort of protective layer (self-adhesive gliding pads are great) to the feet of any furniture. Any sort of dragging can scratch your floor, causing another problem all together. 
2. Use carpet runners, rugs, and mats to protect your floor from daily activity. If you have any sort of computer chair, think about adding a plastic floor protector to the mix.
